Thanks to its extremely high luminance and very large wavelength range from 190 nm to 2200 nm, the laser-pumped XWS-30 from ISTEG is a powerful free beam light source.

To bring you the many advantages of the XWS-30 in the form of a point light source, we have developed a fiber coupler that couples the free beam of the XWS-30 efficiently into a multimode fiber.

Fiber coupler – Optimized to the free beam light source XWS-30 from ISTEQ

The fiber coupler allows the extremely high luminance and the very broad spectral range (DUV to NIR) of the free beam light source XWS-30 from ISTEQ to also be used as a fiber-coupled light source.

The fiber coupler maps the plasma of the laser-pumped XWS-30 onto the fiber end of a multimode fiber with almost no loss via an off-axis ellipsoidal mirror.

Adjustment is quickly and easily performed via just three screws.

In order to optimally utilize the plasma of the XWS-30, the fiber coupler is equipped with an off-axis ellipsoidal mirror. Its high reflectance transports the entire wavelength range of the free beam light source from DUV to NIR. The adjustment module ensures precise positioning of the mirror.
